Publisher department issued third volume of the complete collection of letters by Helena Roerich, an outstanding Russian thinker, writer and devotee. The complete collection of letters from Manuscript Department of the International Centre of the Roerichs, includes letters dated 1935 addressed mainly to Nicholas and George Roerich, who at that time were members of Manchurian expedition, to the members of the Roerichs Museum in New-York as well as to the members of Latvian Roerich Society.

ICR prepared for publication the second volume of festschrift by Svetoslav Roerich “Awake Beauty in Your Mind…” Its first volume financed by popular donations was published in 2015. October 23 (Sunday) was the last day of festivities and multiple guests came to the Roerich Estate to celebrate the anniversary of Svetoslav Roerich, the younger son of Nicholas and Helena Roerich, the renowned artist and public figure, and a truly remarkable man.

A two-day international conference on “Indian Subjects, Foreign Artists” was organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in New Delhi on October 10-11, 2016 to explore the contribution of various foreign artists inspired by India to the local and world art scene and to documenting India’s past.

In Vienna (Austria), at the Russian Centre of science and culture on September, 15-16th, 2016 was held the 4-th European international scientific and public conference "the Relevance of Scientific, Artistic and Philosophical Heritage of the Roerich Family in the Modern World", dedicated to the memory of Lyudmila V. Shaposhnikova, the first Vice-President of the International Centre of the Roerichs, the founder of the Public Museum by name of N. K.Roerich and its General Director, academician, honoured art worker of the Russian Federation.

October 9, the day when the world celebrated the 142nd anniversary of Nicholas Roerich, the Maharishi as this Russian artist is reverently called in India, attracted scores of guests and tourists from India, Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Greece, the Netherlands and other countries. As per the tradition, the festivities opened with the shanti puja, the traditional prayer for world peace and wellbeing, conducted on the cremation spot of Nicholas Roerich near his Memorial Stone from where one can see the snow-capped twin peaks of Gepang. After the puja, the Russian and Indian national flags and the Banner of Peace were hoisted near the Roerich House in a solemn ceremony symbolizing the lasting friendship and ever strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

In Vienna (Austria), in the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, on 15 – 16 September, 2016, there was held the international scientific and public conference "the Relevance of Scientific, Artistic and Philosophical Heritage of the Roerich Family in the Modern World", dedicated to the memory of Lyudmila V. Shaposhnikova, the first Vice-President of the International Centre of the Roerichs, academician, honoured art worker of the Russian Federation, the Director General and founder of the Public Museum by name of N.K. Roerich. The conference participants from several countries of Europe and Russia, discussed international cooperation in the protection of the world cultural heritage; the cooperation being based on the ideas of N.K.Roerich’s Pact and Banner of Peace, as well as on his "Peace through Culture" idea to meet modern challenges.

With the help of the guests from the International Centre of the Roerichs, Moscow, the Indian children were for a while transferred from their native Naggar to the Upper Uimon, saw the peaks and valleys of the Altai and filled in their sublime beauty.

On August 16, 2016 the 114th anniversary of George Roerich, the elder son of Nicholas and Helena Roerich, was celebrated in the International Roerich Memorial Trust, Nagar, Distt. Kullu.

Russian volunteers actively help the staff of the International Roerich Memorial Trust (IRMT) in maintaining the territory of the Roerich Estate in Naggar.
