Construction of White Tara Mandala







International Center – Museum named after N.K. Roerich and Fund of Development and consolidation of cultural traditions “Drepung Gomang Center” present

“Construction of White Tara Mandala and week of temple rituals of monastery Drepung Gomang”

Monks of VII official delegation of Monastery-university Drepung Gomang fr om South India headed by Very Reverend Gyaltsang Rinpoche will construct sand White Tara Mandala – of BUDDHA OF LONG LIFE and will conduct temple rituals of Monastery Drepung Gomang.

• Opening ceremony – March, 19th at 14:00

• Further daily from 12:00 till 20:30

• Ceremony of destruction of Mandala – March, 27th at 14:00

• Fire Puja – March, 27th at 15:30

• Ticket to the hall, where construction of mandala is done – 300 rub.,

• for pensioners, pupils, students – 150 rub.

• To closing ceremony of the festival to the hall where Mandala is constructed – 1500 rub.,

• to the first hall of the 1st floor – 500 rub.,

• to Hall № 6 of the museum – 300 rub.;

• Holding of traditional events – 1000 rub.;

• Children under 7 years of age – free

• Lectures are free

• Fire puja – 500 rub.

14.00 – 15.00 – Opening ceremony. Ritual of consecration of the area. Presentation of new edition of the book “Texts for daily practices”.

15.00 – 17.00 – Start of mandala construction.

16.30 – 17.30 – Lecture. All lectures of days of Mandala-tour are united by the topic of Six preparatory activities. Significance of Six preparatory activities in Buddhist practice, first of which is – cleaning of the room and erection of altar (1). Revelation of meaning of cleaning the room, creation of correct Buddhist altar. Symbols of Body, Speech and Mind of the Enlightened.

18.00 – 18.30 Oral transmission (Lung): «Triple ceaseless prayer» (page 11)*, «Extolment of Arya-Tara» (page 527), of Brief anthem to Tara (page 551), transmission of mantra of Green Tara.

Money collected from the entry tickets is intended for the needs of monastery Drepung Gomang and for maintenance of activities of Museum named after Nicholas Roerich.

During mandala construction you may make offerings. According to Buddhist teaching, offering of donations is an opportunity to accumulate great merits (spiritual energy), to strengthen your connection with Goddess of this Mandala – White Tara and to gain blessing. All donations will be intended for the needs of monastery Drepung Gomang. During the event, you will have an opportunity to meet the Head of the Delegation, during which you may receive blessings and ask questions either about dharma or questions of personal character: about the family, children, finance… For personal meeting with the Head of Delegation, it is necessary to book it in advance. Booking of the audience with Very Reverend Gyaltsang Rinpoche could be done in the hall of Mandala construction and by phone: 8 (916) 715-19-08.

Besides you can book an appointment with the doctor of Tibetan medicine Tonpa Kyabu, who arrived with the official delegation. The doctor brightly graduated from five-year course of the famous Institute of Tibetan Medicine and Astrology – “Mentsikang” and has already had 13 years of practice. During the consultation the doctor will do sphygmic diagnostics, will give recommendations on nutrition and way of living, corresponding to your body constitution. Method of sphygmic diagnostics, tested through ages, allows to detect an illness at the earliest stage, to establish an origin and to start treatment in time. Booking of the consultation with the doctor is done in the hall of Mandala construction and by phone: 8 (916) 715-19-08.
