A huge contribution that Nicholas Roerich made in the development of the world culture was especially stressed by Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in India Mr. Denis Alipov. The most sincere and heartfelt congratulations on the 140th Birth Anniversary of Nicholas Roerich were conveyed by the ICR Executive Secretary Mr. Pavel Zhuravikhin on behalf of Luidmila Shaposhnikova, General Director of the Museum named after Nicholas Roerich.
One of the most joyful and solemn moments of the day was awarding the children – winners and participants of the two children painting competitions dedicated to the jubilee of the great painter.
In June 2014 the student of the Helena Roerich Art Academy (the IRMT) took part in the International Contest “We Discover Roerich, We Discover the World” organized jointly by the IRMT and the St.Petersburg Branch of the ICR. The best paintings of Indian children on the topic "We Discover Roerich, We Discover the World", dedicated to the 140th birth-anniversary of N.K. Roerich were solemnly handed over to the ICR delegation to be transferred to St. Petersburg, Russia to participate in the 2nd final stage of the Russian-Indian Contest.
The 2nd stage is the participation of Indian children in the "Color and Sound of Roerich’s Empire" Contest, an annual open competition of musical and artistic creativity undertaken by “N.K.Roerich Children Art Volosovo School” (Volosovo, Leningrad Region, Russia) with the support of the St. Petersburg Branch of the ICR. The Contest is included in the General registry of activities of educational-methodical center of culture and art of the Committee on culture of the Leningrad Region Government and the Resource Center for support and development of creative abilities of children of the Leningrad regional Institute of education development under the Committee of General and professional education of the Leningrad region Government.

The particular feature of this Contest is that every year the organizers name a new theme for the children, but a single focus on the artistic and philosophical heritage of N.K.Roerich has been always kept. Rewarding of students of the Helena Roerich Children's Academy of Arts – the winners of the 2nd stage of the "Color and Sound of the Roerich’s Empire" Contest was held in gala atmosphere and it was timed to the day of birth of N.K.Roerich. Diplomas and prizes for the winners that were brought from St.Petersburg,Russia as well as certificates and presents for the painting teacher of the Academy Sapna Sangar were solemnly presented by Mr. Denis Alipov, Mr. Pavel Zhuravikhin and Advisor for Culture of the Russian Embassy in Delhi Mdm. Nana Mgeladze. The unity of Russia and India was felt on this solemn day in the festive atmosphere, it sounded in all the speeches, all music performances. "India is not a foreign land, but a sister of Russia," N.K.Roerich used to say. That is why the theme for this year “We Discover Roerich, We Discover the World", dedicated to the 140th birth-anniversary of N.K.Roerich, found the response on Indian land; and artistic works of Indian children looked harmoniously among the works of children from different children's art schools of Leningrad Region and Finland.
