Historical documents, memorable photos and reproductions of works by the great Russian artist Nicholas Roerich will introduce the history of the birth of the famous "Roerich Pact" - an international treaty "On the Protection of Artistic and Scientific Institutions and Historic Monuments" which started systematic protection of cultural objects, - to residents and visitors of the oldest city in the south of the Netherlands.

The exposition provided by the International Centre of the Roerichs, Moscow was organized in Maastricht by the Mission of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Netherlands and supported by the Embassy of Russia. During the inauguration ceremony Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation Konstantin van Vloten said that the project gives a start to a large-scale program of events that will acquaint Maastricht to the Russian culture.
