International Exhibition “The Roerich Pact. History and Modernity”
in L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University.
Astana, Kazakhstan, March 4-22, 2014

The exhibition project was organized by the L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University and the International Centre of the Roerichs together with the International Roerichs’ Heritage Preservation Committee. The exhibition project was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of signing of the International Treaty (Pact) for preservation of artistic and scientific institutions and historical monuments, the Year of Culture in Russia as well as to the 20th anniversary of Eurasian idea declared by the President of Kazakhstan Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev.                  
           
The following guests had a speech at the inauguration of the exhibition: Mr Alexander Losyukov, the President of the ICR of the International Roerichs’ Heritage Preservation Committee, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary; Mr Ashok Kumar Sharma, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Kazakhstan; Pro-rector of the Eurasian National University Mr Dikhan Kamzabekuly and others.

The ICR delegation presented the Banner of Peace, the symbol of the Roerich Pact and some ICR publications to the Eurasian National University.

Within the frames of the exhibition project the following events took place: the ICR delegation press conference “Preservation of Culture is the Way To the Future”, round table “Cosmist in the Modern World”, lecture by Dr Victor Frolov “The Roerich’s Concept of Culture”, presentation of the film “The Call of Cosmic Evolution” made by Mrs Lyudmila Shaposhnikova, the First Vice-President of the ICR, Director General of the Museum named after Nicholas Roerich, concert of classical music and others.
