Appeal to Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova

Dear Ms. Irina Bokova!

You are addressed by the employees of the Non-governmental Museum named after Nicholas Roerich and the broad Russian public which has participated in its creation. In 2015, you visited our museum and highly appraised its work, meeting personally with Lyudmila Shaposhnikova, the testamentary executor of Svetoslav Roerich and his vicarious agent.

Today, the security services of Russia and the state officials of the Ministry of Culture destroy this museum. The building of the museum is behind me. The security services took the pictures and archives, which were given by Svetoslav Roerich to create the museum and were donated by the patrons of the museum for two decades. On behalf of the staff, on behalf of the entire Russian public, we ask you to stand up for our museum and do everything to ensure that its work serves peace and culture.
