The grand opening ceremony of the exhibition project “The Roerich Pact. History and Modernity” organized by the International Centre of the Roerichs (ICR) and International Roerichs' Heritage Preservation Committee took place in Novokuznetsk Art Museum on March 6, 2014. The co-organizers of the project were: Novokuznetsk City Administration, Novokuznetsk Art Museum, Novokuznetsk city Roerich Society, National Museum of the Roerich Family of the D.Likhachev's Library.
In Siberia the exhibition was supported by Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Siberian Federal District Viktor A.Tolokonsky who attaches its great significance to the world community.
The executive secretary of the International Centre of the Roerichs Pavel M. Zhuravikhin donated the Banner of Peace, exhibition catalogue «The Roerich Pact. History and Modernity» and other ICR publications to the mayor of Novokuznetsk Sergey Kuznetsov. He noted that it was a great honor and privilege for the city to open this international exhibition project initiated in the UNESCO Headquarters (Paris) in 2012.
Deputy of Novokuznetsk Council of People's Deputies, chairman of the Regional Board of JUST RUSSIA PARTY in Kemerovo region T.V. Protas was delighted to be engaged in the remarkable exhibition opening.
The attention was also attracted by musical performances of the prize winner of international and regional competitions, violinist ensemble «Concertino» (Children School of Art № 55) and the Pichugins family trio (children’s music school № 40).
