Creative work of the artist is romantic, academic features mix with Indian folk art. She depicts a woman, woman’s inner world, her wishes and aspirations. All woman images on Surjit Akre’s paintings are full of inner beauty,  including young girls charming with their inner beauty and a woman- mother, wise with life experience, - all of them are full with extraordinary light and inner harmony.

The show exhibits include works which depict everyday life of Indian people, who are beautifully painted in folk costumes and cast a spell over the spectators with bright colors.

Among the numerous visitors of the exhibition there were children from Volosovo Children’s Art School by name of N.K.Roerich, Leningradskaya Oblast (Leningrad Region). The children also showed interest to the paintings depicting ancient Indian mythology gods such as Sarasvati  - a goddess of Knowledge and Teaching, Krishna – one of God’s forms in Hinduism. The Indian Artist’s creative work opened a new facet of the world art to children,  they got acquainted with the culture of India, its nature and folk life.
