25.09.2014 International Centre of the Roerichs has proposed a peacemaking initiative

Under the patronage of UNESCO and the Commission of the Russian Federation on UNESCO affairs and within the framework of the International Day of Peace celebrations the Museum named after Nicholas Roerich organized a round table. Its participants adopted a resolution, which contains the address to the renowned international organizations (UN and UNESCO), heads of states and governments and international intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations to do everything within their power in order to create understanding in the society of the role of Culture as the true foundation of Peace.

17.09.2014 Exhibition “The Roerich Pact. History and Modernity” in Chandigarh

The large-scale exhibition project “The Roerich Pact. History and Modernity” organized by the International Centre of the Roerichs and the International Roerichs’ Heritage Preservation Committee goes on travelling around India. In early July the project was launched in Shimla – the capital of the Himachal Pradesh state; then the exhibition dedicated to the Roerich Pact opened at the Himalaya Roerichs’ estate in Naggar; on 9 September it was received in the Indian city of Chandigarh, the capital of the two states – Penjub and Haryana. The organizer of the exhibit in Chandigarh was, as in Shimla, the Lalit Kala National Academy of Fine Arts, its Punjub center.

On September 21-22, 2014 the non-governmental Museum Named after Nicholas Roerich (Moscow) of the International Centre of the Roerichs will celebrate the International Day of Peace, adopted by the UN General Assembly.

26.08.2014 Historic buildings of the Lopukhins’ Estate are handed over for the free use to the ICR


August 21, 2014, the mayor of Moscow S. Sobyanin signed a decree of the Moscow government No. 452-RP "On the transfer to the gratuitous use of the International non-governmental organization "International Centre of the Roerichs" of non-residential buildings at the following addresses: Moscow, Maly Znamensky, 3/5, build. 4 and build. 7".

18.07.2014 The opening of the new display in the IRMT

July 12, 2014, a new exposition “The Roerich Pact. History and Modernity” was inaugurated in the Roerichs’ Memorial Estate in the Kullu valley (India). It was a result of cooperation between the International Centre of the Roerichs (ICR) and the International Roerich Memorial Trust (IRMT).

17.07.2014 Exhibition "Roerich Pact" continues its journey across the Netherlands

On July 12 the exhibition "Roerich Pact: Past and Modernity" was opened at the Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation in Maastricht. Historical documents, memorable photos and reproductions of works by the great Russian artist Nicholas Roerich will introduce the history of the birth of the famous "Roerich Pact" - an international treaty "On the Protection of Artistic and Scientific Institutions and Historic Monuments" which started systematic protection of cultural objects, - to residents and visitors of the oldest city in the south of the Netherlands.
