Presentations of the "Rabindranath Tagore – Indian Culture Messenger" exhibition took place in the libraries of the Basil Island and Nevsky districts of St.Petersburg, Russia, April 13th and 27th, 2013. The exhibition is a joint project of Consulate General of India in St. Petersburg and St. Petersburg Branch of the International Center of the Roerichs. Life and creative work of a world-known poet, an artist, a teacher and a philosopher, an Indian great cultural and public figure - Rabindranath Tagore – was described for school children and adults in lectures with video-presentations held by Yelena Kucheryavenko and Tatyana Aleksandrova, St.Petersburg Branch ICR lecturers.

"Rabindranath Tagore – Indian Culture Messenger" exhibition was opened in Chekhov Library (St.Petersburg, Russia). The exhibition is a joint project of  Consulate General of India in St. Petersburg and the Regional Non-Governmental Organization “St. Petersburg Branch of the International Non-Governmental Organization “The International Center of the Roerichs””.
Rabindranath Tagore is a world-known poet and an artist, a teacher and a philosopher, an Indian great cultural and public figure. Helena Kucheryavenko, a St.Petersburg Branch ICR lecturer, presented a lecture  with a video-presentation about life and creative work of the greatest son of India.



18.04.2012 "Rabindranath Tagore – Indian Culture Messenger" Lecture in a District Library, St.Petersburg, Russia

"Rabindranath Tagore – Indian Culture Messenger" lecture was readin a district library in St.Petersburg, Russia. The lecture is within the "R.Tagore – Indian Culture Messenger" exhibition, which has been made by the St.Petersburg Branch of the International Centre of the Roerichs through support of the Consulate General of India in St.Petersburg.

Tatyana Aleksandrova, a SPB ICR lecturer, presented the lecture which was followed with a video-presentation showing photos and documents about life and creative work of the greatest son of India Rabindranath Tagore. Rabindranath Tagore, a Nobel Prize laureate, a poet and playwright, a composer and an artist, an outstanding public figure brought Indian Culture to the West in the XX century. Rabindranath Tagore’s poetry, music and cultural work greatly influenced the Indian fight for independence and contributed to revival of the national spirit of India.

The audience heartedly greeted the story about one of the greatest Indian outstanding figures.

Tagore – Messenger of Indian Culture
(To 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore)

In 2011 the world public celebrates the 150th birth anniversary of R.Tagore (May, 7th, 1861 – August, 7th, 1941), the Nobel Prize laureate and the world-known Indian poet, writer and playwright, composer and artist, famous public figure. In the XX century Tagore by means of his aspiration to beauty, harmony, and by his tireless work opened the Indian culture to the Western world.
