Nicholas Roerich Anniversary Celebrations in International Roerich Memorial Trust

In front of the memorial Roerich House were solemnly hoisted the national flags of India and Russia, and the Banner of Peace. The distinguished guests of the programme, Dr. Rita Singh, Advisor (Hindi), Ministry of Finance, Government of India; Member, Art, Language and Culture Academy, State Government of Himachal Pradesh; Smt. Sushma Sharma, President, Naggar Panchayat; Olga Slepova, poetess (Russia), Tamara Merges, head of the volunteer group from the International Centre of the Roerichs (ICR), Moscow, and other guests from India and Russia, took part in the flag hoisting ceremony.

Press conference of the International Centre of the Roerichs

On 30th January at 11:30 the press-conference of the International Centre of the Roerichs will take place at the press-center IA Rosbalt (building 1, 4/2 Skatertniy per., Moscow). It is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the death of Svetoslav Roerich (1904–1993), the younger son of a great Russian painter Nicholas Roerich, the founder of the Non-Governmental Museum named after Nicholas Roerich in Moscow. The press-conference is also held to mark 9 months since the illegal seizure of the Museum by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the State Museum of Oriental Art subordinated to the ministry. The conference is open for Russian and foreign journalists.

A lecture about R.Tagore’s life and work was held in St.Petersburg secondary school named after R.Tagore on January 15, 2018; the lecture as well as the "Rabindranath Tagore – Messenger of Indian Culture" exhibition, which is shown in the school, have been made by the St. Petersburg branch of the International Centre of the Roerichs.
